Different types of THC Cannabis drinks

The cannabis industry has seen a rise in the popularity of cannabis-infused beverages in recent years and for good reason. They are a great alternative to alcohol, they offer a discreet way to consume cannabis, you know exactly how much THC and CBD you’re consuming and they taste great (they don’t taste like weed!). Here are some of the different types of THC cannabis drinks you can find on the market:

THC-infused beverages: This drink type contains THC, the primary psychoactive compound found in cannabis. THC-infused drinks produce a high with dosages ranging from 2mg THC to as much as 100mg+ THC per drink. There are many types of THC-infused beverages:

  • Sodas or sparkling beverages: These are typically carbonated beverages that come in various flavors. They offer a refreshing and familiar drinking experience.
  • Teas: THC-infused teas can provide a soothing and relaxing experience. They come in different flavors, including herbal blends, and can be enjoyed hot or cold.
  • Fruit juices: These beverages combine the benefits of THC with the natural flavors and nutrients found in fruit juices. They can be a refreshing option, especially during the summer months.
  • Flavored waters: THC-infused flavored waters offer a hydrating and lighter option for those who prefer a more subtle taste.

Hemp-infused beverages: This drink type contains hemp extract derived from the hemp plant and typically contains CBD. Hemp is a variety of the cannabis sativa plant that contains higher levels of CBD. More recently hemp-infused drinks include THC (often referred to as Hemp-derived Delta 9 THC). Hemp-derived D9 is in the news a lot lately as brands can essentially sell this product to pretty much anyone across the US (you can get these drinks delivered right to your door and get the same THC high).

Hybrid cannabis drinks: These contain a combination of THC and CBD and are becoming more common. They can produce a range of effects, depending on the cannabinoid profile. Many drinks will include both to better balance the high from the THC with the relaxing effects of the CBD. These are some of our favorite drinks on the market.

Mocktail cannabis drinks: Many of the THC-infused cannabis drinks also make great mocktails – which are non-alcoholic cocktails that are cannabis-infused. Some mocktails are ready to drink, like HVY Marg. Others you take your favorite THC drink, follow their well thought out recipes, and make yourself a world-class mocktail. There’s the spicy and crisp Black Cherry Mule from WYNK, the refreshing Fable Palmer, the mouth-watering Wunder Paloma and Levia’s delicious Watermelon Maryrite to name a few. These mocktails are quick and easy to prepare and taste amazing.

Selecting the right drink type

If you’re new to THC drinks and picking your first beverage, select a product that’s low-dose (2mg – 10mg THC). And if you’re looking to offset the effects of the THC, select a drink with a little CBD in it as well. Some high-quality brands now contain natural, quality ingredients, have great flavors, and deliver a consistent and exciting high. See our product reviews for the best on the market
