Full Flyers Drink Review

We really like the Flyers Ol’ Fashioned design, it’s a sleek matte orange and black can that looks both premium and classic. And unlike so many of the sodas and seltzers, we admire the attempt to make a more elevated drink, in this case, reimagining a classically crafted bourbon cocktail (Flyers has no alcohol in it). An old fashioned cannabis drink with oak, vanilla and bitters.. sounds very appealing. Let’s give it a go.

On opening we can’t quite work out the smell as it doesn’t seem to match the flavor profile of the drink and there is an undertone of weed which puts us off. We love the burst of bubbles on pouring and the rich amber color in the glass that looks like an old fashioned. The first sip is a bit of a disappointment. We can taste the oak, gentle touches of vanilla and bitters, but its not quite what you’d expect from an Old Fashioned and there’s unfortunately still that hint of weed in the taste. We’re always after THC drinks that taste amazing but with zero marijuana smell or taste. 

Flyers Sparkling Ol’ Fashioned comes with a low dose 5mg of THC making it a very good choice for newbie canna drinkers or those that like a sessionable beverage. And at 40 calories per 12oz can, that’s significantly better than almost any glass of wine or beer that you might typically enjoy in the evening.

Flyers have spent a lot of time crafting this drink which we always appreciate. The drink is definitely an acquired taste and therefore won’t be for everyone but we’re sure will have some big fans. We can’t wait to try other flavors: The Margarita and Sparkling Spritz.
