Full Drinkin’ Buds Drink Review

Time for our first Drinkin’ Buds cannabis cocktail. This seems like a fun brand, and we like that they are taking on the classic alcoholic cocktails, without the alcohol.

The play on Buds in the name, and the cannabis leaves front and center has us debating the best way forward for low-dose cannabis beverages. To appeal to the canna-curious drinkers do you call and visualize something exactly as it is, or is it better to focus on more subtle branding and drinking cues. Time will tell.

When you open Drinkin’ Buds Rum Punch you get a fruity punch aroma; it’s nice but a little hard to pinpoint the exact smell. Obviously, there is no rum in the drink, so we’re interested in how this will taste.

When you pour Rum Punch into a glass there is a lovely burst of bubbles (the fizz hangs around which is great), and we like the color of the drink as it looks like a rum punch. The first sip reminds us of a straight-up fruit punch without any alcohol, you can taste the orange and pineapple, and a hint of lime juice. You don’t really taste any ‘rum’ equivalent, but this is on par with any fruity cocktail punch.

There is a bit of a dry, sticky aftertaste after each sip, you feel like you either need to take another sip or have some water. We’re not sure we could have too many in one sitting, as the taste is also a little synthetic. That said, we’re sure this will have its fans as this is easy to drink, has a lot of the typical rum punch ingredients and it’s an enjoyable fruity flavor.

Drinkin’ Buds Rum Punch has 5mg THC and 5mg CBD, making this a good choice for those curious about cannabis drinks but want to take it slow. And with no sodium, low sugar, and a low 30 calories, this is a much healthier alternative to an alcoholic cocktail.
